Solaris Relocations LTD

I used Solaris services to move from London to Singapore. Pros: their price was competitive, service on both ends was great and they were responsive in their email communication. Cons: packing was fast (which is good) but quite suboptimal in terms of volume (eg chairs that could be dismantled in less than 2 minutes weren't dismantled) - we ended up at our quoted volume even though I had sold a few bulky items and expected a lower volume. Some items were damaged on the way (eg bed drawer and stand-up desk) but since we had insurance, the insurance covered it without issue. Finally the transport took longer than expected. We had scheduled the packing so that it would leave the UK early August. It ended up leaving 2 weeks later than we were told and it reached sg early October, the full transit and clearance took 9+ weeks. Other companies may not have done much better but it was more than expected from our email exchanges. Overall I would recommend Solaris as pros outweigh the cons

We recently used Solaris for our relocation from the UK to the US. THE GOOD The movers in the UK were great, professional, clean, and did a great job packing everything. THE BAD The movers in the US were pretty bad. They had a bottle of urine in the back of the truck with our stuff, damaged our sofa while unloading, didn't speak English, and weren't particularly professional or clean. Also, we were estimated 8-14 weeks, but it actually took 15 weeks, which is not that far off but a bit disappointing given that we decided to go with Solaris rather than cheaper alternatives that had estimated 12-14 weeks. THE UGLY We had a chest of drawers damaged (huge hole on the side) and a sofa with fabric ripped and a leg missing. The expensive maritime insurance refused to pay for the former because not explicitly included in the insurance form (fair, I guess) but also for the latter, only willing to pay for a leg replacement (impossible to get as the sofa is discontinued).

I moved to live in the UAE in December on xmas day and had to ship my stuff before I arrived in the UAE. It all got packed and collected on the 5th December and was on the way to the UAE on the 21st December. Obviously this wasn't a great time to move countries due to the holiday period but all went really well. Solaris were very professional and dismantled and packed everything themselves. It arrived in UAE at the tail end of January and the partner here Freightworks is well known and established. Received great service on this side, again, the team assembled everything back again and put it in their respective rooms. they even came back next day to collect boxes which i opened after they left as they were smaller things and I needed time to go through it. Overall my experience was positive and I would recommend that you don't bother looking elsewhere as the price is very competitive. I spoke to many companies and did the surveys with each before choosing Solaris.

We do not know yet what would it be on the other side But pleassd so far with their communication explanstions etc
