“Total nightmare!”
The initial quote was £600+ then after speaking to a lady there & listing as much as I could in each room, we were only a week away from moving, so lots of boxes, too many to count, the cost then escalated to £3000+ which due to lack of time i accepted & paid! The driver then called & said he'd have 2 vans & 2 men, i said that's not enough, it's a 4 bed house! They then came with 3 lorries & 5 men, couldn't get all the stuff in the lorries, some things hadn't been itemised so they wouldn't take them, I ended up, in desperation, as we had to get out, paying an extra £1000+ for 2 more lorries to come & they still didnt take everything! I even had the estate agents coming in their cars to ferry stuff for us just to get us out as the new people were waiting to come in! When it comes to moving a whole house, they just don't have lorries big enough & they cost me way too much!

We booked anyvan to move my daughter into her new house to try and help her and to reduce the stress of moving home. We explained to them they may have to wait for keys as with it being a new home we would be waiting for the contractor to exchange, which they said that was no problem. When the crew arrived on the moving morning it was raining my daughter told them we were still waiting for the contract to come through they said they couldn’t wait even though they were booked until 14:00 (they were supposed to be booked until 18:00) and they would just dump everything on the drive. We said this was not acceptable we rang Anyvan she then told us if they couldn’t start moving we would be charged £24 per half hour per person x3 even though they were booked to 14:00 and pre-paid for until 14:00. After an hour and a half of the moving crew being there, Anyvan said they couldn’t wait any longer and they’d send a second crew but we would be charged again, I said I didn’t mind paying for the

Looking into your booking, the service arranged was a furniture removal, not a full home move. As noted in your booking confirmation, 15 minutes of waiting time is included if the team can’t start immediately. Beyond that, waiting time fees apply because the team cannot begin work until access is available. It’s also worth noting that the timeslot you book is the team’s expected arrival window, not the duration of their service. On the day, the delay in access triggered the standard waiting time procedures, and the option of sending a second team was offered as an additional service. As the booking was cancelled, a refund was not due. It was an amazing experience.
“An absolute farce”
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.... Movers were clearly overbooked and were 7+ hours late, they tried to ask me to postpone a day which was not possible due to work and our bedding not being available, of course Anyvan customer service was not available at this point Anyvan did not check if it was a two storey house, which meant that I had to lug a dozen bookcases upstairs at midnight on a sunday as the movers refused to carry them up, I have back problems and my wife has medical issues, the very reason we paid for a removals service!!! They also did not inform us the movers would not have any moving blankets and our TVs needed wrapping so we had to risk them being wedged between two mattresses.... When I contacted anyvan to complain, they tried to shift blame onto me for not offering information, and offered a frankly insulting £20 off our next move.. Ps. I don't blame the movers themselves, clearly overloaded, exhausted and underinformed, they turned up

How did you start your business?
AnyVan started in 2009 when founder Angus discovered that 50% of vans on the road were travelling half empty. He realised that filling those empty vans would create cheaper delivery costs and be better for the environment.
